Christian Double Standards
I don’t take any religion seriously. Y’all don’t take yourselves seriously when it come to the concept. Picking and choosing which rules to follow but wanna tell someone else what is and isn’t good lmao

I always see a variant of this argument, which goes like this:
I don't follow Christianity because Christians don't follow the rules.
These people never apply the same logic to anything else, let alone themselves.
To them, its ok when rappers are allowed to say one thing in a song but act a completely different way in real life. It's ok when *insert favorite politician or cultural leader/icon* acts in a completely different way than what they say, but let a Christian act unchristian like and they go crazy.
Imagine an entire community, lets say 150 people, are 500 pounds. Lets say someone wants to get to 180. Lets say, for the sake of argument, it takes 5 years to lose 320 pounds. During this time, during 5 whole years, this guy is gonna mess up. He might not exercise for a week. He might eat bad for two weeks. For a month. For two months. It doesn't matter, as long as he's making progress. At what point can he tell other people they need to lose weight? Is it when he get to 180? 190? 200? 300? No, he can tell people they need to lose weight, as soon as he himself is on the path.
He's only a hypocrite if he isn't trying to lose weight.
What's this have to do with Christianity? Well, some people are early in their journey with Christ. Some people are in that stage where they're messing up, not living like they should, but even though they're messing up, they're still making progress.
Temporary sin, while still wrong, is temporary. That's why God tells us to repent. While the consequences might not be temporary, the act of sinning is.
Anyway...
