Still Holds up: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
This movie still holds up. The fight choreography, characters, plot, everything is still absolutely phenomenal. In fact, I like it even more later in my life than I did when I first saw it. The third act, particularly the ending, still leaves me scratching my head, but other than that, after 22 years, this movie is still amazing, easily top 10 for me. It is also a good template on how to depict believable, likable, strong female characters that aren't men with breasts. Jen and Yu Shu Lien fight and "kick ass," but most importantly, they're still women and feminine. More on this later.
