I've done almost ZERO marketing for the one book I wrote and I've sold more than a dozen books. In the Air Force, my career field is suffering from low manning and burnout, which has led to apathy in the junior enlisted ranks. All of the important work is done by the junior enlisted ranks. Leadership, who is far removed from both the work and the junior enlisted, are either ignorant (willful or otherwise) or incapable of fixing low manning and burnout.
