The Osmosis Effect

In boxing, the osmosis effect is when a less experienced or less skilled boxer gets better by training with or competing against a more experienced or more skilled boxer. The better the opposing boxer, the faster the less experienced boxer levels up.

I’ve known about this concept forever, but it can be applied to anything. Writing, fishing, photography; and the most important aspect of the osmosis effect is the more experience person doesn’t even have to instruct the less experienced one. Just being around someone better, seeing how they operate, is enough.
