One can 100% avoid trouble by avoiding as much work as possible, or one can attempt to work, risk getting in trouble for doing the right thing. Even worse, doing the right thing is no guarantee of reward. Why should someone do work and risk getting fired, for little to no reward, when they can do no work and 100% avoid getting in trouble?
