Age is only a number

With all the talk of Mayweather coming out of retirement, old questions started resurfacing.  Jordan vs Lebron, Hearns vs Mayweather, GSP vs Usman. Would Ali and Tyson beat todays heavyweights? Are todays athletes better than yesterdays athletes?   I think, with the recent examples of Mayweather beating Mcgregor and Tenshin, Pacquio beating Thurman, Hopkins beating almost everyone, Anderson Silva beating JCC Jr, we have some evidence that the newer generation of athletes would’ve be able to compete with the older generation.  Granted, in boxing, you have the option to choose your opponents, but that doesn’t factor athletes like Tom Brady and Gronkowski. I’ve got some skin in the game as well, as I took 2nd place (honestly should’ve won IMO. I got robbed via home town decision) in the North Carolina Golden Gloves at 37.
