Boxing, Nature, Nurture and Theology
Seems like its a combination of nature and nurture. The old adage that boxing is a "poor mans sport" that only attracts poor, stupid, violent low borns, is proven wrong more and more. How many more Oscar De La Hoyas, Ryan Garcias, and these twins, who come from a middle class background, do we have to see before that myth can be dispelled.
How many "rough kids" who come from well off suburban areas do we have to see before we understand that environment (while it plays a role) isn't wholly responsible for shaping a human and ultimately, we are all born with different characteristics.
What does theology have to do with this? Well, I believe God created us all with specific characteristics.
He did not create us as "blank slates."
