  This is a great post. How many people started out like this? They perform an incredible acts of service, they go above and beyond the call of duty, and in return all they want is something simple and reasonable, which often times is well within the power and rights of the entity they performed the act of service for, and what happens?  They're denied.  I've seen this happen in the military many times. An airmen went above and beyond, then asked his leadership for something simple in return, and what happens? It gets denied, and very rarely does it get denied for an appropriate reason. Leadership always made up some nonsense as to why they couldn't do it, when really they were just terrified to ask the people above them, or, if leadership had the power to honor the airmen's request, they were too scared to do it because someone, somewhere, might  think less of them. I've gotten some pushback over my use of AI in the trailer for my short story While I see both sides of the debate regarding AI, in this case, I was just using it as an experiment. The trailer took me a long time to make, and now that I've gone through the process, I'm confident I make future trailers way, way, faster, should I choose to do so. Right now, AI art doesn't really impress me, and the animation even less so. I think it has its uses, but after looking at the trailer, I can't help but recognize how much better an actual human would've done.  As far as the trailer goes, I think it's fine for the purpose I intend to use it for. We'll see how it performs and what the future holds.

  What is it with western game devs these days? I'm currently employed by a very large, world wide organization, with multiple layers of thick, near impenetrable bureaucracy, so it's entirely possible, what I'm blaming on devs, could in fact, be the fault of upper management and CEO's chasing profit over entertainment. Still, part of me wonders how much of it is upper management and how much of it is are people who like the idea of being game deves more than actually developing games. People who are more concerned with things other than  entertainment, (profit, pushing agendas), getting into positions of power and recruiting others from their "tribe."

If this doesn't define today's military in one picture I don't know what does. On the left, is a man who  accomplished   something of substance, while the man on the right  failed but was still recognized, praised, and awarded more. I can't tell you how many times I've seen hard working airmen, who are actually good at   their jobs, get passed over for awards, promotion statements, and recognition, for someone who's terrible at their job, but "plays the game" by volunteering during work hours and engaging in "high visibility activities" that have nothing to do with the primary mission.  Its ridiculous.  Not only that, but when these people screw up, they rarely if ever get in any type of trouble, while the people doing their job  get thrown to the wolves.   Drake is catching a lot of criticism for his new album, which currently, at the time of this writing,  sits at 52 on Metacritic. For the record, I’m in agreement with the current consensus, in that the Toronto emcee’s new album is what all the cool kids refer to as Mid. However, there’s an important factor everyone seems to be missing. This isn’t a Hip Hop record. This is a record for a new genre I have dubbed: Hip Tok! Hip Tok! As a Hip Hop album this album is mediocre, but as a Hip Tok album this album is phenomenal! I can easily hear IDGAF playing in the background during a tiktok video of a bunch of people "turning up," or Bahamas Promises playing in the background of a tiktok of some guy "getting over his girl" or "on his come back." Listening to Tried Our Best and I can already tell its going to be playing in the background of while teens film themselves crying over a breakup.
