Kids and Communism

Son got an early lesson in communism today. Basically, he and his friends built a fort in a nearby forest. They probably spent a total of three entire days clearing it out and building it. One of his new friends, who only recently arrived in the neighborhood, saw their project, then showed up to the house one day and said “he wanted it.” My son stepped out of the house and said “you can’t have it. Me and my friends built it, but you can build in another part of the forest.”

The friend looked confused, then talked about how it wasn’t fair and my son said kept saying no. He even went as far as saying he couldn’t make the decision because the rest of his friends weren’t there.

After my wife told me what happened I promptly rewarded him with an extra hour of video game time. He deserved it.
