 I didn’t know martial arts moves could be intellectual property “It was a commercial struggle for me,” Li said, “I realized the Americans wanted me to film for three months but be with the crew for nine. And for six months, they wanted to record and copy all my moves into a digital library. By the end of the recording, the right to these moves would go to them.” Happy Jet Li had the wisdom to deny what could have set a terrible precedent. On the inverse, could martial artists now sell their moves, or, even better, copyright them and receive compensation?

I've done almost ZERO marketing for the one book I wrote and I've sold more than a dozen books. In the Air Force, my career field is suffering from low manning and burnout, which has led to apathy in the junior enlisted ranks. All of the important work is done by the junior enlisted ranks. Leadership, who is far removed from both the work and the junior enlisted, are either ignorant (willful or otherwise) or incapable of fixing low manning and burnout. The result, is the lower enlisted covering up, or outright lying, about problems, which create...
